How every maze is checked

Each grid is generated from a saved seed and then tested as a graph before publication.

Every cell is reachable

A breadth-first traversal must visit every cell. A sealed-off corridor or isolated island fails the build.

Exactly V - 1 passages

A connected grid with one fewer passage than cells is a tree: it has no cycles and exactly one path between any two cells.

The answer path is replayed

Every consecutive answer step must move to an adjacent cell through a published opening, from the left entrance to the right exit.

Which difficulty should I choose?

LevelGridWhat changesGood starting point
Easy12 x 12Wide corridors and a shorter scanFirst maze, quick break, broad pencil
Medium18 x 18More junctions and backtrackingRegular paper-puzzle session
Challenging26 x 26Dense branches; route length varies by puzzleExperienced solver or sustained focus
About the level labels: grid size, route length, turns, dead ends, and branch points all inform the production label. Individual solving time will still vary.

How to solve a printable maze

  1. Find the green START marker on the left and the dark FINISH marker on the right.
  2. Scan ahead before drawing so you can spot obvious dead ends.
  3. Trace lightly in pencil and back up to the last junction when a route closes.
  4. Try working backward from FINISH if the entrance side becomes crowded.
  5. When the route is certain, retrace it cleanly and compare it with the answer page.
