These previews show one puzzle from each level. The PDF includes the complete story, all category lists, every clue, and six pairwise marking grids on a full page.
Four friends each completed a different project, chose a different drink, and started at a different time.
Four customers ordered different meals and drinks, then collected them at different times.
Four makers presented different displays, earned different ribbon colors, and demonstrated at different times.
With three four-item categories matched to four people, there are 24 x 24 x 24 possible one-to-one assignments. The validator begins with all of them.
Direct matches, exclusions, earlier-than clues, and immediately-before clues filter the same assignment set used to create the answer audit.
Publication stops unless the final survivor is the saved answer table and no second complete matching satisfies every clue.
The completed table lists every person beside the matching item, second detail, and time. It also displays the exact count of possible assignments remaining after each clue, ending at one.
This is stronger than merely checking that the intended table fits the clues: it proves that no alternative full table also works.
This page is reserved for story-based clue-grid deduction. Short riddles and trick questions belong with printable brain teasers. Number-placement puzzles belong with Sudoku, while picture-revealing row and column clues belong with Nonograms.
Choose Letter for 8.5x11-inch paper or A4 for 210x297-mm paper and print at 100% or actual size. Print pages 1-10 for activities; answers are on pages 11-20. You may make copies for personal use, one classroom, a library activity, or a care-home group. Do not resell or re-upload the files.
This walkthrough uses the exact clues from puzzle 1. Each person has a different project, drink and start time. Reveal one stage at a time instead of opening the filled answer immediately.
Ava starts immediately before Cleo. Ben starts at 11:00 AM, so Ava and Cleo cannot occupy 10:00/11:00 or 11:00/12:00. The only available consecutive pair is Ava at 9:00 AM and Cleo at 10:00 AM.
Cleo has the birdhouse, and the birdhouse starts before Diego. Diego must be after 10:00 AM; 11:00 AM belongs to Ben, leaving 12:00 PM for Diego.
Ava has tea and Ben has water. Ava starts immediately before the lemonade, so the lemonade belongs to Cleo at 10:00 AM. Cocoa is the remaining drink for Diego.
Ben has the stool and Cleo has the birdhouse. The kite starts before the water at 11:00 AM. Of the two remaining people, only Ava at 9:00 AM can have the kite. Diego therefore has the planter. Check each clue against these assignments before looking at the answer page.
