How to solve Kakuro
Fill white cells with digits 1–9. Make each consecutive run add to its clue, without repeating a digit in that run.
The lower-left number in a dark clue cell points right; the upper-right number points down. A crossing square must satisfy both totals. Start with short runs or unusually low or high sums, then carry confirmed digits into the crossing clues.
More than an answer-key check
The production script reconstructed all 210 runs, checked every no-repeat rule and clue total, then used a complete constraint solver to look for a second answer. None existed. Layout, clue, and answer signatures are unique across the pack.
Letter and A4 are native sizes
Choose the file that matches your paper, then print at 100% or “Actual size.” Activity pages are 1–12; answers are 13–24. The high-contrast clue cells work in black and white.

Kakuro printable questions
Do the PDFs include answers?
Yes. Pages 1–12 are activity sheets and pages 13–24 are the matching answers.
Can a digit repeat?
Not within the same across or down run. The same digit may appear in a different run elsewhere.
Are Letter and A4 different packs?
No. They contain the same puzzles in the same order; only the paper dimensions change.
Does every puzzle have one solution?
Yes. A complete constraint solver verified exactly one solution for each clue grid.
What if I get stuck?
Recalculate the remaining sum, remove digits already used in the run, and compare candidates at crossings.
Intersect two real sums in First Sums
Use puzzle 1. Each run uses digits 1–9 without repeating a digit; a number can occur again in a different run.
Hint 1: list the two-cell 14 combinations
The first two-cell Across run totals 14. Its only unordered pairs are 5 + 9 and 6 + 8. The order is not yet fixed.
Hint 2: use the crossing Down sum
The first cell also begins a two-cell Down run totaling 8. That run can use 1 + 7, 2 + 6, or 3 + 5. A shared cell must belong to both runs: only 5 or 6 survives at their crossing.
Hint 3: keep both candidates for now
Do not choose between 5 and 6 yet. They would give 9 or 8 respectively in the other Across cell. Use the remaining crossing sums to decide; two possible candidates are not a reason to guess.
