How the puzzles are checked

Built as distinct activities

Each of the 12 themes has its own word list, grid, saved seed, and solution coordinates. Changing the title alone cannot create a new puzzle.

Verified word by word

Every saved path is read back from the final letter grid. The checker also confirms that each listed target appears exactly once, within the grid boundary.

Answers kept separate

All activity pages come first. The second half repeats each grid with every intended answer cell highlighted and its direction labeled.

Want a genuinely hard word search?

The separate hard collection uses larger 20x20 grids, 24 words per puzzle, and all eight directions throughout. It has ten different themes and does not duplicate this pack.

Printing the PDFs

Choose the Letter file for 8.5x11-inch paper or the A4 file for 210x297-mm paper. Print at 100% or actual size. To keep the solutions aside, print pages 1-12 first; answer keys begin on page 13.

Black-and-white printing is fine for the puzzle pages. Answer highlights remain visible in grayscale.

Use permission

You may print copies for personal use, one classroom, a library activity, or a care-home group. Please do not resell the files, remove the edition notice, upload the PDFs elsewhere, or bundle them into another product.
