Seasonal boundary: this page covers the spring season, weather, plant growth, pollination, animal activity, outdoor observation, and phenology. Easter eggs, bunnies, baskets, church observances, and other holiday-specific vocabulary are intentionally excluded.
Phenology is the timing of recurring life-cycle events. In spring, useful observations include leaf-out, flowering, insect emergence, bird arrival, and other changes that can shift with local temperature, moisture, latitude, and elevation.
Astronomical spring begins around the March equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and around the September equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. Meteorologists use fixed three-month seasons, so “spring” does not begin in exactly the same way for every place or purpose.
These are the actual generated grids for puzzles 1, 6, and 10. Compare their density and word-list length before downloading.
Each theme has a separate target list, grid seed, and saved start and end coordinates.
Each stored path is read from the final grid, then every target is scanned in all eight directions to confirm one occurrence.
The second half repeats the exact activity grids with intended cells highlighted and directions labeled.
After Puzzle 9, record the date of one local bud, flower, insect, or bird observation each week without assuming every place follows the same calendar.
Use Puzzle 6 to arrange flower-part and visitor terms into a simple sequence from a flower visit to pollen transfer.
Pair Puzzle 11 with a forecast map and sort terms into clouds, air motion, precipitation, flood risk, and observation tools.
Choose Letter for 8.5x11-inch paper or A4 for 210x297-mm paper. Print at 100% or actual size. To keep solutions aside, print pages 1-12 first; answers begin on page 13.
Black-and-white printing works for activity pages, and answer highlights remain readable in grayscale.
