Thanksgiving Dinner
8 words · 8×8 grid · right and down only
Find: TURKEY · GRAVY · CORN · ROLL · BEAN · YAM · PIE · PEAS
Start with two simple 8×8 word searches about Thanksgiving dinner and giving thanks. The original 12-puzzle pack offers easy, medium, and challenging grids, with answers for every puzzle.
Original pack: puzzles on pages 1–12, answers on pages 13–24. The two simple puzzles have separate downloads. No sign-up and no watermark.
Find eight short words in each 8×8 grid. Words go only left to right or top to bottom, with no diagonal or backward paths. Each puzzle and its matching answer are separate one-page PDFs in US Letter and A4.

The original pack starts with forward-only words, then adds longer dishes, parade details, community service, historical context, calendar vocabulary, and gratitude actions. Print one sheet for the dinner table or mix levels for a class, library, family gathering, or community program.
12x12 grids, 12 short words, and forward-only horizontal, vertical, and diagonal paths.
15x15 grids, 16 words, and a planned mix of all eight directions.
18x18 grids, 20 words or phrases, backward paths, diagonals, and intersections.
Every theme has an independent word list, a distinct grid, and its own highlighted answer page. Words with spaces appear without spaces in the grid.

More autumn themes: For leaf color, orchards, migration, and outdoor harvest topics, try the Fall word search collection. This Thanksgiving pack focuses on gratitude, gatherings, turkey, table foods, parades, service, and holiday traditions.
Puzzle 9 is labeled The 1621 Harvest Gathering, not “the first Thanksgiving.” It includes Wampanoag and Pokanoket vocabulary, Patuxet, Ousamequin, Tisquantum, diplomacy, mutual protection, the English colonists, and the three-day gathering. That wording leaves room for the political alliance, the long Wampanoag history before 1621, and what the limited surviving evidence cannot tell us.
A word search is a vocabulary activity, not a full history lesson. Pair the sheet with an authoritative lesson before asking students to draw conclusions from the terms.
These are the actual generated grids for puzzles 2, 6, and 9. Compare their density and word-list length before downloading.
Each puzzle has its own target list, grid seed, and saved start and end coordinates. Familiar holiday words may appear in more than one puzzle.
Each stored path is read from the final grid, then every target is scanned in all eight directions to confirm one occurrence.
In the original pack, the second half repeats the activity grids with intended cells highlighted. The two simple puzzles have separate answer sheets with matching highlights and row/column coordinates.
Place one easy, medium, and challenging page at the table so each solver can choose a comfortable grid.
After the gratitude puzzle, ask each solver to name one specific action that made them feel supported.
Use the 1621 puzzle only after a source-based lesson, then sort the terms into people, places, evidence, and diplomacy.
Choose Letter for 8.5x11-inch paper or A4 for 210x297-mm paper. Print at 100% or actual size. Each simple puzzle and answer is a separate one-page file. In the original pack, print pages 1–12 first to keep answers on pages 13–24 aside.
Black-and-white printing works for activity pages, and the answer highlights remain visible in grayscale.
You may print copies for personal use, one classroom, a library activity, or a community group. Please do not resell the files, remove the edition notice, upload the PDFs elsewhere, or bundle them into another product.
