Preview and choose a puzzle or answer page

Choose a page from the actual PDF contents. The links open the complete 36-page file at your selection when supported by your PDF viewer; they are not separate single-page files.

In the print dialog, enter page 1 to print only that page. Some pages contain more than one puzzle or answer.

Download puzzle pages or answer pages separately

Both layouts use the same 24 puzzles. Download a puzzle file and its matching answer file in your paper size, then match the printed puzzle numbers. In the one-puzzle-per-page layout, the answer file has two answers per page; the four-per-page answer file has four.

The only two techniques used in this pack

Naked single

One candidate fits the cell

In Puzzle 1, row 1, column 7 is 2. Its row, column, and box exclude every other digit.

Hidden single

One cell fits the digit

In Puzzle 17, digit 9 has only one legal place in row 1: row 1, column 3.

If you become stuck, rescan one row, column, or box at a time. Every puzzle finishes without guessing or advanced patterns.

How every grid was checked

24 unique solutions

A complete search counts solutions up to two. Publication requires exactly one answer for every puzzle.

648 solution units

All nine rows, nine columns, and nine boxes in each completed grid must contain digits 1-9 exactly once.

Zero PZ19 reuse

Puzzle strings, clue masks, and full solutions are compared with the mixed-level parent collection; exact reuse stops the build.

Use the original puzzle 1 in the download. Rows are counted from the top and columns from the left. Open one step when you need a hint; these three steps start the first grid without revealing its complete answer.

The row already contains 1, 3, 5, 9; the column contains 3, 4, 6, 7, 9; the box contains 1, 3, 7, 8, 9. Of the digits 1-9, only 2 is legal in this cell. Write 2 before continuing to the next step.

Step 2: row 2, column 4

The row already contains 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9; the column contains 2, 3, 5, 9; the box contains 2, 3, 5, 9. Of the digits 1-9, only 6 is legal in this cell. Write 6 before continuing to the next step.

Step 3: row 3, column 1

The row already contains 2, 3, 8; the column contains 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9; the box contains 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8. Of the digits 1-9, only 7 is legal in this cell. Write 7 before continuing to the next step.
